Topic: REMOVING THE MOUNTAINS
Text: Mk. 11:12-14, 20-24
As long as there is life on this earth, there are abound obstacles to the realization of his desires and goals; hence the disappointments, pains and sorrows, hunger and thirst that litter the society. For many, there seems to be no way out; and so they feel dejected, frustrated and defeated. And some may develop suicidal tendencies.
But this night, the Lord for His love and care towards us is releasing to everyone the remover of obstacles. So, rejoice over your obstacles because you will see them no more after this night in Jesus’ name.
Now, let us consider the remover of mountains at our disposal and what we need to do now to have them removed.
- The Remover Of Mountains At Our Disposal (Mk. 11:20-24)
The word ‘
Mountains’ in our context means ‘
apparently huge/great obstacles to realization of physical necessities of life, godly desires and promises of God’ (cp. Mk. 11:13-14)
Our faith in God: His name, His word, His Spirit and His power is all that we need to move every form/size of mountain in our ways (Prov. 18:10, Ps. 62:11, Eccl. 8:4; Heb. 4:12, Isa. 40: 18-31; 43:13; Acts 10:38). Seeing God in your mind’s eye as being very real, having implicit confidence and reliance in His name more than a son of the president of a great country has in the name of his father; trusting in the Lord’s word more than a beloved son of the president of a great nation has in the words of his father because of the authority he commands; trusting in the Spirit of God more than one can trust in his caring father who is an action man (having a combination of being the world’s heavy weight boxing, wrestling, judo/karate fighter champion and such likes); trusting in His power more than one can trust in the power of the heaviest and most effective bomb is all you need to have every size/form of obstacles to having the needs of life, godly desires and God’s promises for you removed. (Mk. 11:20-24)
- Our Actions That Remove The Mountains (Mk.11:20-24; Rom. 10:8-11)
The following actions are necessary for removal of mountain (i) repentance from dead works (Heb.6:1). Sin is a great hindrance in realization of divine manifestation, therefore, confess all known sins; and prosper (Prov.28:13, Isa.59:1,2, Mk.11:24-26) (ii) Identify the mountain that needs attention; and make a declaration of your desire over it (Mk.11:23-24, Rom.10:10) (iii) If mountain persist support your declaration with some fasting exercise to potentiate your word and faith. This is the art of knocking (Matt.7:7,8, 17:21) (iv) Patiently wait for your sure manifestation (Heb.10:35-39).
At such a perilous time the believer is expected to be a mountain remover, and a blessing to his neighbourhood .
Let us rise to remove the mountains on our ways.
