Theme: WHEN BLOOD TOUCHES BLOOD Text: Hos. 4:1-16 INTRODUCTION:We must remain grateful to the Almighty, whose faithfulness we daily witness amidst the ever-increasing perils in society. Some people may not have known the impact the fasting exercises and declarations made in the cause of this year, have accomplished in their lives. (Pro.14:23; Rom.9:29)
Our text is about the Lord’s dispute (controversy) with Israel following their departure from Him: abandoning truth, mercy, knowledge of God, swearing and lying and killing, etc. The high rate of murder was captured in the phrase “blood toucheth blood”.
The Scriptures indicate that BLOOD contains and carries the life of a creature (Gen.9:4; Lev.17:10,11,14). It is sacred and forbidden to be ingested (Gen.9:4;
Acts 15:20,29). The Lord does not condone the shedding of human blood – innocent blood and so puts stringent measures to discourage the practice (cons. Gen.4:9-13; 9:5-6, Deut.19:10-13; 21:1-9).
The shedding of innocent blood defiles a land and attracts divine retribution as it’s the case with the Israelites (Hos. 4:2-3). NB: The blood of people not worthy of death attracts judgment (Gen.4:10).
Innocent blood is currently flowing in our country and is not intending to abate soon. There are people bent on killing to acquire land/money who need to be stopped in their tracks otherwise the judgment of the Lord will consume ALL (Hos.4:1-16,
Jer.29:7; Ps.11:3)
We shall stop them with our incontestable weapons of war: faith prayer and praise (2Cor.10:3-5; Matt.18:18,19).

Let us consider the journey from January 2021 to September 1, 2021, and thank God for all the goodness. Thank God for the GS and his family; the Diocesan Pastor and family and all the ministers in the diocese and their families.
■ (Gen.16:16, 17:1) – After 13 years of redundancy in Abram’s life, the Lord reintroduced Himself unto him, and requested him to be perfect. In like manner, many people in the church have become redundant following COVID-19 Pandemic; having lost confidence in God’s word, there is need to ask the Lord to re-introduce Himself to you and your family.
■ (Ps.71:6-9, 16-18, 20-21) – Pray for the GS that the Lord will renew his strength and comfort him on every side: in the home and Church; granting him his heart desire. Remember our Mummy and her children that the Lord will assist them to fulfil their purpose in life.
■ (1Kgs. 8:56) – Pray for the Diocesan Pastor, that all the divine promises/declarations on his head be fulfilled. Also, pray for his wife and children that the Lord will accomplish His purpose in their lives.
■ (Ps.20) – Lift up all watchman pastors in the diocese, and their families, and pray to the Lord to remember their sacrifices and reward their services.
■ (1Pt.3:12-13) – Pray for the protection and preservation of all watchmen in the diocese; that the Lord will keep them and their properties from evil men and arsonists. Pray against fire accidents etc.
■ (Gen.16:11,12) – Pray that the Lord will arouse all nations/tribes to turn against the Islamists/terrorists who are plundering our country.
Pray that the Lord will uproot all those who are supporting them within and without the country.
Pray that the Lord will silence the spiritists making enchantments for them; and neutralize their enchantments.
