WATCHMAN CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL MOVEMENT FIRST FRUIT FASTING FELLWOSHIP 2025 (APRIL EDITION) Day 1
Theme: UNVEILING AND UNEARTHING THE UNTAPPED RESOURCES
Texts: Gen.1:27-28; 2:8-12; Pro.25:2; Eccl.8:17; Jn.1:15-16
Welcome to the 4
th month of the year of Jubilee in which we are called to juggle in all aspects of our lives.
Powered by the principle of ever increasing glory in jubilee dimension, this month promises to be greater than the previous; so we are going from strength to strength. (Pro.4:17; Ps. 84:7)
In the preceding edition, we reiterated the place of knowledge in the prosperity of the pilgrim (Pro.24:3-5; Jn.8:12; 2Pet.1:2-5).
We encouraged all to yearn for higher grounds as did Apostle Paul, and never feel satisfied with any attainment or achievement in the kingdom (Phil.3:10-16).
We then addressed the subject of sumptuous natural resources divinely deposited in the earth for man‟s exploration and benefits (Gen.2:11-12). Similarly, there are inexhaustible untapped resources embedded in God for our edification (Exo.34:6; Rom.11:33). These resources include divine love, wisdom, compassion, power, longsuffering, goodness, mercy, etc.
We commenced our exploration of untapped resources with „Mercy‟ which was briefly defined as the capacity for holding oneself back from punishing or causing suffering to someone whom someone has the right or power to punish. It was comprehensively
defined as loving kindness (cheҫed)
which consists of 3 interacting words viz strength, steadfastness and love. The word expresses divine obligation and generosity. It is given by the Lord as a covenant and grows through intimacy with the Lord (Mic.6:8).
This month, we shall be looking at the resource – GOODNESS.
Topic: GOODNESS
Subtexts: Ex. 33:12-20, 34:4-6
The message shall be coming under the following points:
- ANALYSIS OF THE UNTAPPED RESOURCE
- THE AMASSMENT OF GOD’S GOODNESS
- ADVANCEMENT THROUGH THE RESOURCE
THE ANALYSIS: THE NATURE OF GOD’S GOODNESS
No statement on the nature of God‟s goodness is more sublime than that of Christ the Lord (in the days of His flesh) to the rich young ruler who saw Him (Christ) as a man, but a good man (Mk. 10:17-22). Though Christ was indeed a
perfect man (Jn. 8:46; Acts 3:14; Heb. 1:9), but because of being in the form of man and knowing that absolute goodness belongs to God and not to man, He refused the designation, “good”, which belongs to God only.
The psalmist called all to taste and see that the Lord is good affirming that trusting in Him will unveil this goodness (Ps.34:6-8). During the Exodus, Jethro testified of seeing God‟s goodness manifested towards the people led by his son-in-law (Exo.18:9). The Lord told Moses that He would make all His goodness pass before him (Exo.33:19), and later promised to satisfy His restored people with His goodness (Jer.31:10-14).
Even the prophet Hosea saw that in the latter days, the restored Israel will marvelously experience the goodness of God (Hos.3:5). God‟s goodness is a quality that reflects His moral rightness, righteousness and benevolence (being well meaning)
Today, the nature of God‟s goodness is seen from the rain that falls; from the sun that shines; from the air that circulates and from the lands that yield for both godly and sinful men (Matt. 5:45).
The word “goodness” in Hebrew means „good in the widest sense of the word‟. God‟s goodness is seen in His constant desire for our well-being: guiding and providing wisdom and strength (Ps.119:68; Lk.11:13). It is a catalyst for repentance and a call to live in accordance with His character (Rom.2:4).
This untapped resource is great and abundant in God (Exo.34:6; Ps.31:19). It cannot be exhausted.
Tomorrow, we shall look at the amassment.
