Through divine, it follows principles in its operations and grows from level to level. Whether as a gift or a fruit (1 Cor. 12:7-9; Gal. 5:22)   The perilousness of the present day makes knowledge of faith indispensable.   Faith can be simply defined as “belief and trust in and loyalty to God.” It expresses itself in implicit confidence in God and His word. This makes the faithful substantiate what is hoped for, and evidence of what is not seen. (Heb. 11:1, Gen. 7:1-6)   Greek: ‘Pistis’ translated faith is the living, divinely implanted, acquired and created principle of inward and whole hearted confidence, assurance, trust and reliance in God and in all that He says.   Faith is like a magnet that attracts desired objectives and a propelling force that pushes the informed to his unlimited limits. (Mk. 11:23; Heb. 11:32-34) Faith without a firm foundation flounders. (Jas. 1:6; Jer. 17:5)   The foundation of faith is the word of God (Rom. 10:7) Faith can be dead or alive (Jas. 2:20,26). Though there are various grades of living faith namely little and great faith, the least is capable of carrying out spectacular supernatural feats (Matt. 17:20-21)   The faith-way is the natural path of kingdom‟s citizens, so it is unnatural or strange for believers not to walk in faith (1 Cor. 2:9; 2 Cor. 4:7; Heb. 10:38)   It must be noted that the narrow holy way that leads to life is the faith-way with all the paraphernalia of obedience (Matt. 7:13,14). And one of Satan‟s ploys is to convince the saint to live according to the dictates of the natural senses. (Gen. 3:5-6; Jn. 10:10; 2 Cor. 11:3)   In God‟s design, living faith as every living thing grows. (1 Pet. 2:3; 2 Cor. 3:18)   Faith grows by boosting the basis of faith and faith putting to use. Remember, if faith is not exercised; it shrivels and „dies‟ but when exercised grows (1 Sam. 17:35,36; Rom. 1:17; Jas. 2:26).   Boosting the basis of faith is by feeding on the word through meditation and praying in scriptures (Jos. 1:8; Ps. 1:1-3) and fasting (Matt. 17:21).   Joshua was a man that fed on the word and so had the faith to stop the rotation of the earth (Jos. 1:5-8; 10:8-14)   Jesus, the Word of God led a fasted life and did not neglect daily fellowship with the Father in prayers. (Matt. 17:21; Mk. 1:35; Jn. 1:44-50; 5:17-20; 11:41,42)   Following with the Father through the Spirit naturally ignites the creative capabilities of the Father inherent in the spirit man as iron sharpeneth iron (Pro. 27:17) and deep calleth unto deep. (Ps. 42:7-8)   The Holy Spirit in the believer is the Divine Agent assigned to build/develop the believer‟s faith and grow him to be a look-alike of the Son of God. (Matt. 10:25; Rom. 8:19)   The Spirit‟s strategy is to permit challenges that should be accosted scripturally, giving room for the divine manifestation that inturn increases „volume‟ of faith. (Rom. 5:3-5; Ps. 44:1; 1 Sam. 17:35,36)   Faith never fails and when fed flourishes; but if not put into action fades.   We are in an era of perils in the society and so need to put our faith into action to enjoy what the Lord has promised at such a time. (Isa. 44:24,26; 46:10; 60:22)
