Theme: THE LIVING WORD WORKS WONDERS
Texts: Deut.8:1-3; Matt.4:1-4; Mk. 4:36-39; Heb.4:12
It has been reiterated that we are at the predicted perilous times which is only subject to the creative word of God.
This knowledge is behind the trend of release of empowering declarations for the year in the recent times, instead of the traditional annual predictions: informing the Church of the things coming ahead. It is by these scriptures and declarations that we make our war (1 Tim. 1:18).
We have taken sometime to educate on the inspiration of the Scriptures; how God breathed into the authors and speakers to produce His mind which is the cardinal instrument and medium of terrestrial life. (Heb. 3:7, Ps. 95:7; 1 Cor. 6:16, Gen. 2:24; Rom. 3:1-2, cp. Lk. 4:4)
Then, we considered the incubation of the Word which has to do with meditation; we beheld the numerous benefits of meditation.
Today, we shall be considering:
Topic: INOCULATION AND INTUBATION WITH THE INSPIRED WORD
Subtexts: 1 Pt. 1:12, 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Rom. 10:10
From our texts: Apostle Peter stated a conscientious minister’s obligation – refresh the memories of flock while it is day while Paul revealed that Timothy knew the scriptures from youth which things perfects the man of God; and that confession genders salvation.
Our message shall come under the following points:
(A)
Definition of Keywords (B) Details on Inoculation and Intubation with the Living Word (C) Diverse application to the contemporary time.
(A) THE DEFINITIONS OF KEYWORDS
Inoculation is the act of introducing attenuated micro-organisms in order to prevent the infection or disease that they cause. Figuratively, it stands for the introduction of particular ideas into somebody’s mind so as to imbue him with them.
Intubation is a process where a health care provider inserts a tube usually through a person’s mouth (ocasionally nose), then down into the trachea (wind pipe) to keep it patent, so that air can go through. The tube is then connected to the machine that delivers air or oxygen into the lungs. This act is done during general anesthesia in theatres.
- DETAILS ON INOCULATION AND INTUBATION WITH THE LIVING WORD
The principle behind inoculation (where positive) is to generate antibodies that will fight off infection. Therefore, it is for preservation of life. Similarly, intubation done to keep the airway open so that air or oxygen could access the lungs; so it is for protection, provision and preservation of life.
Now, when the word of God is understood, it forms a barrier against the invasive activities of the enemy (Matt.13:20,21,23).
Meditation begets deeper insight in the word and so generates a more formidable opposition to the contemporary scary sights and seducing sounds (Prov. 22:6, Jos. 1:8, Deut. 6:6-8, Acts 2:42, Matt. 24:12). Meditating on the word also forms a barrier against offences and other carnal manifestations (Ps. 119:165, Jn. 15:3) and
once an elect drops the habit of scripture reading and meditation, the carnal self with its antecedents will rise up again (Gal. 5:19-21, 1 Cor. 3:3-5, Rom. 8:5-8).
Now, during natural intubation, there is the opening of the mouth to forcefully insert the tube into the wind pipe, so spiritually, there is the opening of mouth for confession of the word irrespective of feeling until it becomes real to the confessor; for as one confesses, he also hears himself, thus setting up a positive feedback mechanism of faith that will clear off any suffocating clog of unbelief, fear, anxiety or worry produced by the negative prevailing circumstances (Rom. 10:10,17).
Once there is a living faith, there is access to the treasures of the Throne (Heb. 11:6 cp. Phil. 4:19). Such will always see and say there is a lifting up irrespective of the
contemporary mayhem (Job 22:29). They neither see nor speak like others but rather emulate the Master (Jn. 8:12; 11:11 cp. Isa. 8:11-13)
- DIVERSE APPLICATIONS IN THE CONTEMPORARY TIMES
The elect of God, having seen that man is created to live by the WORD, must learn to divide the word rightly, meditate on and confess applicable scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15). Then, align with the precepts and apply the principles and promises derived from the scriptures.
Stand and confess the promise of deliverance from death and succour at times of scarcity (Job 5:20-22, Ps. 23:2);
of longevity (Job 5:23-26, Ps. 91:1 -16, 23:4-6);
of peace (Ps. 23:2-3, 29:11, Isa. 26:3);
confess the Goshen phenomenon (Ex. 8:22-24, 9:24-26). If there are antagonists,
declare the Jannes and Jambres phenomenon (Ex. 8:18,19, 9:10,11, 2 Tim. 3:8-9).
Also consider the following scriptures.
- 46:1, Isa. 40:31, 43:2, 54:15,17
- 37:25, Isa. 8:18, Jer. 33:10
- 4:13, 2 Cor. 8:9
As we meditate on and daily declare these Scriptures, we will build a formidable wall of protection and preservation, and open the portal of unceasing heavenly flow into our hearts in particular and life in general (Prov. 4:23, Ps. 16:11). The word of God is creative and changes circumstances when employed or deployed in prayers and through confessions of faith (Ps. 107:20)
Knowledge of the incredible power of the spoken word guided the Master’s utterances; being averse to negative statements on the future of His ministry and ministers; rather stating the divine counsel, and uttering His desire to any prevailing circumstance.
He that speaks the scriptures and purposes to follow the divine precepts shall prosper irrespective of the perilousness of the period.
