We saw the universal goodness that permits good things to happen to all: rain, sunshine etc; and the motivating goodness, were good things are done to sinners to motivate them to repent, and to believers as an benevolent expression of Father-son relationship. This goodly special divine expression is underscored by His command to believers to do good to all men especially to those that belong to the household of faith (Gal. 6:10). We concluded by saying that the Lord who deposited natural resources in/on earth for men to explore and enjoy, similarly expects His people to explore His inherent resources and prosper.   Once a believer gets the key to the sustained enjoyment of God’s motivating goodness, the one has broken into the realm of systematic (regular) supernatural sustenance; thereby going from strength to strength in all aspects of life (2Chro. 26:2-5; Ps. 84:7; 2Cor. 3:18).   Today, we shall look at what it takes to experience God’s greatness daily viz. (i) Walking in faith (ii) Walking in holiness (iii) Walking in love (iv) Wielding the word.
  • WALKING IN FAITH (Heb. 11:1,6)
The believer’s kingdom life on earth begins and ends with faith (2 Cor. 4:7). Faith is the currency of the kingdom by which transactions are made. It entails believing God and trusting in His words/promises (Ps. 119:103, 114, 116, 128). Expression of faith pleases the Lord and draws out His goodness (Lk. 7:1-10; 8:43-48; Matt. 15:21-28).
  • WALKING IN HOLINESS (Jn. 8:29; Acts 24:16; Heb. 1:8,9)
Holiness in man is about separation from sin and the world and consecration to God. It goes with freedom from spiritual impurities and contaminants (1 Cor. 5:1,4-6, 2 Cor. 6:17; 1 Pt. 1:15,16). It is the existential nature of God (Lev. 11:44,45; Isa. 6:1-5; Rev. 4:8). Aligning with this nature creates a conducive environment/channel for the expression of God’s goodness (cons. Isa. 59:1-2; Heb. 1:8,9; 12:14,15).
  • WALKING IN LOVE (Jn. 13:34,35; 14:21)
Love is the very inherent nature of God, the identity of those born of God and is known to “draw” God to any place of its manifestation (1 Jn. 4:7-8, 16; Acts 2:41-47; 5:1-11). Love goes with obedience to God’s injunction (Jn. 14:21,23; 1 Jn. 2:3-5). Anyone walking in love is tolerant, readily forgives and addicted to giving thus expressing God’s character (1 Cor. 13:4-7; 1 Jn. 3:16).   (iv) WIELDING THE WORD (Heb. 4:12) This ubiquitous weapon of offence and defense when wielded during prayer or in battles during decrees, stirs up the goodness of God, as He is committed to its authentication (Isa. 55:9-11; Jer. 1:12). When divine promises are personalized and confessed, the power of God manifesting as goodness is brought into play.   Goodness and mercy are bed fellows; so confessing the word will unleash both resources (Rom. 10:10; Ps. 23:6; 21:1-3).   Whosoever learns to attract the goodness of God enters the realm of ever increasing greatness: moving from strength to strength, height to height; faith to faith, glory to glory etc.
