Theme: IDYLLIC ERA OF CONCEPTION AND PARTURITION
Topic: PRAISE TO PROSPER
Text: 2Chro.20:21
One of the greatest instruments for accomplishing divine objectives in the kingdom is PRAISE. And saints that learn to deploy it always stay triumphant.
The Holy scripture is replete with information on the excellency of praise. And every citizen of heaven will find it advantageous to learn to gain momentum and ultimately victory through this medium.
PRAISE DESCRIBED
In our context, praise is the expression of approval (a feeling of liking something or
someone good) and commendation (favourable opinion) unto the Lord.
A saint can praise in speech or song; in a known or unknown language; with or
without musical instruments (Ps.113:1-5, 33:2, 30:4, 1Cor.14:14-15). Whenever saints exercise themselves in the expression of approval and commendation to God, He descends to dwell/sit down with them; that is, His presence is made manifest (Ps.22:3) and divine power is unleashed to attend to the issues on ground (2Chro.20:20, Acts 16:25).
Praise is a form of sacrifice that releases sweet aroma and elicits God’s favourable reaction (Heb.13:15). Before returning to the cross, the Lord Jesus sang a hymn (a religious ode celebrating God which was part of the hallel consisting of Ps.113-118), and He received inspiration to undertake the colossal task (Matt.26:30).
The potency of praise is intensified by the circumstance of it’s evolvement: if the praise is casual or aimless, there may be no remarkable change save for the melody; but if it comes with purpose, and or at a time of negative experience, the effect is resounding as the Lord always responds swiftly (Acts 16:25, 2Chro.20:20).
However, the Lord will not accept the praises of the polluted as His ears will be deaf to such
(Amos 5:21-23, 8:3, 10).
PRAISE MOTIVATION
The following motivate praise:
i. Considering the goodness of God (Ps.107:8,15,21,31, 113:5-9)
ii Counting the blessings bestowed (Ps.103:1-5, 30:1-3)
iii. Counting the pleasure and presence of God (Ps.22:3, 115:1, ct. Acts 12:21-23)
Praise heals the mind, corrects emotion, thrills God and genders prosperity (Ps.67:5,6). The saint is expected to be addicted to praises for therein lies prosperity (Eph.5:19-20, Ps.67:5,6).
When you praise with purpose, you will praise with understanding, and you’ll assuredly get results.
