Sunday Light (07/03/21) Watchman Catholic charismatic Renewal Movement   Topic:                         WHAT SEEST THOU? Text:                                    Jer.  1:10-19   INTRODUCTION:  Living in divine awareness will enable one to see appropriately and understand the time in which we are. In our previous Sunday Light teachings, the awareness of eternity and rapture was expounded to us.   When God spoke to Jeremiah, and challenged him with the responsibility of prophesying to the nations, He asked him “What Seest Thou?”  Fortunately Jeremiah was seeing aright due to divine awareness that came on him of what God was showing him (Jer.  1:11 -16).  Today, God is equally speaking to His people and showing them His purposes/programmes.  He has shown that there is virtually no more time; that we are fast drawing to the zero hour whereas the task He gave us to accomplish before the time is still very enormous.  But the problem is “Who is seeing in this light?” Are you seeing according to the Vision of the Sovereign Lord, or that of Satan, self and the evil society?   (1)        Seeing According To The Vision of The Sovereign Lord (Jer.  1: 11-16; 4:19-22; 9 :1-3). God showed His servant Jeremiah the spiritual state of the people and what evil that was going bring them.  He rightly saw, believed and was influenced into appropriate  actions (Jer.  1:11-16; 4:19-22; 9:1-3).  Today, God is opening the eyes of His servant, the Watchman to the decadence and destruction in the world, and deceit and debasement in the church, for which judgements, both interim and eternal, have been slated  (cp.  Gen. 6:5-12; Ezk. 7:22-27; 22:24-29; 1Pt. 4:17,18).   Furthermore, God is showing that the “Midnight” is very close  (cp. Matt. 25:5,6).  Scripture, Spirit’s revelations, Science and Situations on ground, agree thereto  (Cp. 1Cor. 7:29-35).  Besides, God is showing that before this takes place, there is so much work to be done both in the church and in the world (Eph.  4:11-13; 5:26,27; Jn. 16:8). But what seest thou ?  What you do show what you see.   (2)        Seeing According To The Vision Of Satan. Whilst God is revealing His mind to His people, Satan is also showing contrary visions to whosoever  he can make to see (cp.  Gen.  2:16,17; 3:1-5). The devil has a way of  making people  feel  that all these things about rapture, etc, are mere tales; making them to believe that there is nothing like rapture or if at all, it will not take place in their life time (cp.  2Pt. 3:3, 4, 9, 10).  He (Satan) does not allow people to face the reality of the appointment of death  at any time (cp. Heb. 9:27; Jas. 4:13,14).  He gives people false security and false hope; trying to convince them that it is well when it is actually bad; that there is no problem when there is great problem (cons.  Isa. 3:10,11).  It is the business of the devil to go about making people to believe that they still have much time on this earth and that, meantime, they should make the best of eating, drinking and enjoyment (cp.  Eccl. 11: 7-10; Lk. 12:19-21).   He tries to show that everybody is a child of God, serving God in his own way; that the different religions are leading to one goal – to God, and that all you need do is to endeavour to propagate your own as much as you can (cp. Num. 16:3).   The devil does not need now to appear like a serpent, to say that all these things  God is saying are not true, as he did in the time of Adam (cp. Gen. 3:1-5). It is enough for him to be showing the people and leading them into things that are capable of diffusing  the intensity of and de-emphasizing whatever God  is saying. He can also make them indifferent and get them pre-occupied with many other things that  distract.  Note, people move and act according to the vision in them.  What Seest Thou ?  Your character, conduct and pre-occupation tell that.   (3)        Seeing According To The Vision of Self and The Society.  Strictly speaking, this is part of  the above point, as it is the same devil that makes people to have all other visions contrary to those God is showing.  So, what he makes many people to see are the visions of their needs and problems – what to eat, what to drink, what to put on, how to prosper, how to be protected and be provided for, how to train their children, what legacy (estate/assets) to bequeath to them, in the event of death or perhaps at rapture, so much so, that every other thing you are saying as of  God, does not really mean much. For some others what they are seeing is the vision of the society. Their vision is how to “meet up”. What bother such people  are their social esteem, position, popularity and earthly achievements.   What God might be saying are indeed of secondary importance (if at all) to them.   The Lord would have us to re-examine ourselves today.  One’s actions, conducts and pre-occupation show one’s vision in life.  What Seest Thou ?  Tell yourself the truth. The blind or the wrongly seeing should recognise that, and repent in dust and ashes and call upon the Lord for appropriate vision (cp. Jn. 9:40,41; Eph. 1:18).
