It, therefore, calls that we should really appreciate Him more at such a time like this. Therefore, our message today shall come under the following points (A) The Place Of Praise (B) The Power Of Praise (C) The People to Praise   (A)       THE PLACE OF PRAISE (Ps.105:1-5) The Lord is a Being that can be influenced for He has emotion. He loves to be appreciated and praised for Who He is and for what He has done and enjoins it (Ps.9:11; 33:2; 67:3; 100:4; 107:22; Col.1:12; Rev.19:5). He is said to inhabit the praises of Israel (Ps.22:3). So when His people praise Him, they are not only expressing their gratitude but also invoking His manifestation, but when He is denied His praise/appreciation, He frowns.  (Cons. Lk.17:17,18; Rom.1:21). (B)       THE POWER OF PRAISE There is power in praise. Whenever God is appreciated in words, songs, instruments of music, thanksgiving (acceptable sacrifices), He is stirred up to demonstrate that He lives! So our senior colleagues in heaven built for this purpose (namely angels) perpetually engage in the noble act and enjoy the indescribable manifestation of God’s splendour (cons. Isa.6:1-4; Rev. 5:11-12; 7:11-12; 11:17). When mortal men harmoniously praise the Lord, the beauty/magnificence of the lord is likewise revealed (cons. 2Chro.20:22; Acts 16:25). Praise is a sacrifice with a sweet odour that God finds difficult to reject. Whenever it is rendered by the qualified, the Lord never hides. (Cons. Acts 2:47; 16:25). (C)       THE PEOPLE TO PRAISE While the whole creation is required to praise the Lord, for the purpose of their existence is to please the Lord (Rev.4:11; Ps. 150:6; 148:1-14), there are people that are expected to give quality praise to the Lord. Such quality praise uniquely influences God. Such quality praise can only come from His covenanted people which are persons who have been freed from sin and the world. (Ps. 134:1-2; 2Cor5:15; 6:14-17; 1Tim.2:8; 1Pet.2:9). Such is required to love Him and place a premium on Him as their “Precious Lord”. (Cons. Jn.14:21,23; cp. Phil.1:29). Praising God should be habitual as it is with angels in glory, and not by coercion. It should be noted that praising God in unfavourable circumstances (i.e. praising God amidst the feeling of pain or gloom) is highly stimulating to God, and yields great dividends (cons. Ps.126:6; Acts 16:25; 1Thess.5:18). Let us, therefore, rise to praise God for it is greatly rewarding. HSCF:
