In our preceding message titled “The Wealth of Wisdom”, we described wisdom from both Hebrew ‘Chokmah’ and Greek ‘Sophia’ as a compound quantity that consists of knowledge and ability to profitably use it: cutting across intelligence, knowledge, talents skill etc. that enable divinely approved dominion on earth (Gen.1:28, Ps.115:16). And that true wisdom has a requisite ingredient/component called fear of the Lord (Prov.9:10).

The ancients saw wisdom as the art of learning how to succeed in life. They understood that there was orderliness in the world, and that success and happiness came from living in accordance with that orderliness or pattern or system (cons. Prov.22:17-29).

Functional wisdom births prosperity

Our sub-texts today, relay the voice of personified wisdom and the voices of men that came in contact with the Embodiment of wisdom.

We shall be looking at the Wonders of Wisdom: The message shall aim at the character or manifestations that compel great admiration of wisdom.

  • The fact of wisdom’s endless origin – Hebrew Owlam meaning ‘time out of mind’ or ‘eternal’ (Pro.8:23, 27,30; Jn.1:1-2).
  • The power to attract divine favour which breaks protocols (Pro.8:35; Gen.39:7-15; 40:8-21; 41:1-9, 38-44; Esth.4:15-17; 5:1-6).
  • The thrilling effect to the objects (Eccl.8:1; Lk.11:27; Jn.7:46).
  • The ability to unlock complex issues (Gen.41:1-9, 38-44; Dan.4:4-28; 1Kgs.3:16-28).
  • The safety and prosperity that it births (cons. 1Kgs.4:24-31; Jn.8:12; 1Cor.1:30).
  • The ability to take the beneficiary to glory not only in the interim but also and into eternity (Pro.8:1-8,12-22; 14:1,3)
  • The simplicity of its operation (Mk.6:2,5; Jn.9:1-3,6-7)

The fact that Jesus has been made unto us wisdom (1Cor.1:30) does not preclude engaging in wisdom building/developing exercises, seeing that wisdom is a process that grows with experience. Wisdom expresses herself as ability to function. It utilize4s knowledge as and its raw material to produce an effect.

Those that delight in her shall enjoy her dividends (Pro.1:33; 8:35).

Any field of life where wisdom is deployed will definitely experience her largesse. (Pro.8:18-21; Job 28:12,22).
